Omar Dogbey


Omar Dogbey prides himself on being an inclusion advocate and a future leader within the insurance industry. He is a Senior Underwriter at Sompo International specializes in Cyber, Miscellaneous Professional Liability (including Real Estate E&O and Insurance Agents/Brokers), Technology and Architect & Engineers coverages. Prior to his time at Sompo, Omar started his insurance journey as a Systems Analyst on the Leadership Development Team at AIG where he assisted with the creation and execution of companywide programs used to develop early career talent and middle management. After a year, Omar joined the Financial Lines team as a Professional Liability and Cyber Underwriter. During his time at AIG, Omar was a co-founder of the Interfaith Employee Resource Group and an active member of the Black Professionals Employee Resource Group. Outside of his day-to-day responsibilities, Omar participates in the Leadership and Mentoring Program (LAMP). A program dedicated to support, education, and access in the professional liability industry to individuals from diverse and traditionally underrepresented groups and backgrounds. Omar graduated from Stockton University with a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics. Omar is a proud member of the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA) and the Water Street Club. Omar currently resides in Jersey City, NJ. In any of Omar’s pursuits, he keeps in mind that “the only way you really see change, is by helping create it.”
